Maya Buchanan

Maya Buchanan (she/her) was raised in Waterloo and attended the University of Iowa. She received her B.A. in African American Studies and International Relations. 

As the Multicultural Education Coordinator, Maya trains and supervises student staff, develops and implements programs promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Additionally, she collaborates with student organizations and leaders to plan events and support student needs. 

Outside of work, Maya is a competitive weightlifter. She enjoys spending time with family, her boyfriend, and friends, and loves going on thrill seeking adventures.
